On the weekend of Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September the Amy’s Gran Fondo event returns to our region. Over 6,000 riders will take part in the event and to ensure the safety of all event participants and the community temporary changes to traffic conditions will be implemented.

Three new events will be part of the weekend of Cycling in 2017, all held in Apollo Bay.
- Cyclocross Apollo Bay – Saturday 16 September
Cyclocross racing will hit the Apollo Bay foreshore on Saturday afternoon. For the first time in this Victorian series the event will hit the beach. There are no road closures for this event.
- Gravel Fondo – Sunday 17 September
The Gravel Fondo is an off road ride starting and finishing in Apollo Bay and taking in the beautiful Otways. There will be some road closures in place for this event.
- Apollo Bay Family Fondo – Sunday 17 September
This 14km ride is for all the family. Following the Gravel Fondo course and turning around on Barham River Road. All Colac Otway Shire residents receive a 50% discount on entry into this event.
And for the second year the Medio Fondo will start in Apollo Bay. A short closure of the Great Ocean Road in Apollo Bay will be put in place at the start of this event at 10.30am.
